My thoughts on recent "music-scene" events here...

I wanted today to voice my opinion on something I find personally bothersome. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I know that Dethcentrik is not everyone's cup of tea. But I am slightly irritated that people go out of their way to post bad iTunes reviews, and hate videos, and hate forum posts, etc. What's worse is that I know who most of the people writing the reviews are in person, and they don't like me as a person, and most are in bands that continuously express frustration that they have not received the press or commercial outlets as we have. A personal thought: when someone says not to bother listening to certain music, it seems they fear it gaining more following, anyone else hear a logic to that? I do have to thank haters for helping the word spread though... It's actually where a good portion of our initial exposure came from! My advice to music fans is to listen to anything you hear about, and make your mind up for yourself. My advice to beginning musicians is to be respectful of other musicians whether you like the music or not, and if another band gets something you want: don't complain about it, just work harder!

On a final side-note: music-scene is in quotations in the title because I believe this city doesn't really have a music-scene, the sellout/self-entitled attitudes are the reason why...
